The New Amalgamation Feeder, The Bumper Car Complex and The Realisation of The Imaginary Man
29 May to 25 July 2015
Residency: Friday 29 May to Thursday 25 June
Exhibition: Saturday 27 June to Saturday 25 July
Private View: Friday, 26 June, 6-9.30pm
Curated by Bella Easton and Iavor Lubomirov
Badrick and Rogers will spend a month inside Lubomirov-Easton, reconstructing their narratives as well as the characters and objects that occupy these worlds. The site will become home to an interaction between real life and installation, using our characters, objects, and machines, to embody real life happenings through allegory and metaphor, placing them inside scenarios, which will then be made real through the use of spectacle. The installation will then be documented through the construction of a film, which exists as the first cohesive collaboration between the duo, and a development of the themes explored within their narratives and work.
Badrick will become submerged in the new amalgamation feeder whilst Rogers will continue to be subjected to the bumper car complex. They will create work under these conditions, embodying ideas of overstimulation and dependency in an information-saturated environment, whilst making reference to a wide array of sources and investigations, both true and imaginary.
